This air fryer apple cake is a fast and easy recipe to put together and a great way to use some in-season apples. It’s flavored with cinnamon and loaded with diced apples.
Line the bottom of two 6-inch cake pans with parchment paper and lightly grease the sides.
Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl and mix to combine.
Combine the egg, oil, sugar, and milk in another bowl and mix with a fork or whisk to combine.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix until almost combined. Add the chopped apples and walnuts and gently them fold in.
Preheat the air-fryer to 325°F (162°C). Bake the cakes one at a time for 13-15 minutes until the top is lightly brown and the cake is cooked through. To ensure the cake is cooked through, insert a toothpick into the centre. If it comes out clean, the cake is done.
Cool for 10 minutes in the pan. To remove the cake, run a knife along the edge of the pan and turn the cake out. Cool for an additional 5 minutes and serve warm. Dust with powdered sugar if desired. Enjoy!
